Fishing Nude (camping and boating too)

Let me explain. We are a family site and you will not be seeing any photos here, or even links to photos. This isn’t even an article about fishing as it is just an interesting lesson in marketing. As much as I love all outdoor recreation and most of all fishing, I do run a business so I have to keep up on what’s happening in the world. Tonight, I was using a common SEO (search engine marketing) keyword research tool from www.seobook.com. With this tool I can type in common phrases such as fishing, hunting, camping, etc. and this tool will show common related phrases people use to search on Google to find websites related to certain topics. Along with a list of phrases it also shows the estimated times the phrase is searched for daily. Now I’ve used this before for certain niche keywords but today was the first time I tried the most general keywords. When I typed in ‘fishing’ I expected to find phrases such as ‘fishing lakes’, ‘fishing tackle’, ‘fishing boats’, and so on. Well of course the first word to show up was ‘fishing’ with an estimated daily Google search of 3,621 times. Now here is where it gets interesting. The number 2 most searched phrase listed was ‘fishing nude’ with 2,190 daily searches. Now I would have never expected this to be the number 2 listing or even a listing for that matter. It goes on from there to ‘fishing lakes’ at 1,683 daily searches and so on. Seeing this I moved on to some other keywords. Under ‘camping’ ‘camping nude’ came in at number 12. If you look at the keyword ‘boating’ you’ll find ‘nude boating’ at number 6. Luckily there was no listing for ‘nude hunting’.

So what does any of this mean? I don’t know. But numbers don’t lie, so I guess for whatever activity you enjoy there is a segment of the population who says to themselves, “I’d like to do that nude”. So for any of you 2,190 who found this article today by typing in ‘fishing nude’, I hope you weren’t too disappointed. :)
