I know, this doesn’t seem like a camping recipe. My mom would usually bake a cake to take with us. She usually used a 9 x 13 ” pan with the plastic cover to keep it moist. I have used this method for years. It is easy, very moist and delicious. 1 white or yellow cake mix, I prefer Duncan Hines 4 eggs 1 cup of milk 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 cup smashed banana’s ( about 2 or 3 medium sized) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, grease and flour a 13 x 9 ” cake pan. Hobo Dinners - Easy Camping Recipes

This recipe will serve 4, double the ingredients for more servings. Ingredients: Heavy duty Foil 1 lb lean ground beef made into four patties 1 medium onion, chopped 5-6 potatoes, washed, sliced (can leave skin on) 5-6 raw carrots, washed, sliced (can leave skin on) Salt and pepper to taste. Method: Place 4 pieces of foil on counter or table. Should be about 18 in x 18 in or large enough to hold each dinner. Place ground beef patty in center of each foil pieces. Sprinkle about two tablespoons of onion on each patty. Add the equivalent of one potato and one carrot, you can add more vegetables if desired. Salt and pepper to taste. Campside Chili - Easy Camping Recipes

Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef 1 medium onion (peeled, chopped) 4 or so cloves of garlic (peeled, minced) 1 16 oz can diced tomatoes 3 cans chili beans ( we use red beans, kidney and chili just to mix things up) salt, pepper, crushed red pepper, chili powder to taste. Method: On a cookstove or open grill, using at least a 4 quart stock pot brown your ground beef, onion and garlic until the onion is translucent. Be careful not to brown the garlic too dark, and make sure the meat is cooked through. Drain off the fat. Add the tomatoes, and the beans. Bring to a slow boil, then reduce the heat and simmer.
